Less than a week after battling Three 6 Mafia in one of the most explosive Verzuz competitions to date, Bizzy Bone claims he and fellow members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony got more than they bargained for. On Monday (Dec. 6), while reflecting on the matchup, he concluded that his group went head-to-head with more than just the Memphis rappers.
“It wasn’t a Bone vs [Three 6] Verzuz, it was a Bone versus the entire rap industry Verzuz,” he wrote on his Instagram Story before name-dropping some of the artists the “Poppin My Collar” stars brought out during the show. “They battling Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Project Pat, 8ball & MJG, Lil Flip, Young Buck, Strippers, dollar bill, and even actors; Terrence Howard,” he added.
Bizzy’s thoughts on the Verzuz come after he started a scuffle that temporarily paused the battle. At the time, he believed he was being mocked by his competitors, so he threw a water bottle at Juicy J, prompting fellow Three 6 members to jump in.
“I just stood up for my boy Juicy J,” DJ Paul told HipHopDX after the battle. “That’s my brother and when [Bizzy] threw the shit at him, I stood in front of him and was ready to handle business.”
Fortunately, after a nearly 15-minute break, the Verzuz resumed, and Bizzy issued an apology to viewers of the competition.
“I wanna apologize to everybody the fuck out there — on both sides,” he said on stage. “I’m not trying to fuck this shit up. Pardon me.”
“When I got back on stage I meant what I said,” he later wrote on Instagram. “I really hope you guys understand my passion for music and my seriousness about GOD. I really believe in what I say. I’m a artist. I came back because I know a lot of people depended on me. It was not scripted but it ended perfect. A toast to Hip Hop. Shit gets a lil crazy.”
