Celebrity stylist Law Roach received some horrible news right before the holiday weekend. According to multiple reports including from news outlets such as PEOPLE, his 3-year-old nephew tragically passed away after falling out of a window on the 17th floor of the Chicago building he resided in with his family.

This took place on Tuesday (Nov. 23). The entertainment outlet reports that Chicago Police stated that the window screen had been pulled inward and that the toddler was “found unresponsive laying on the sidewalk outside of the building” at around 10:40 pm local time. The child was then quickly taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

The police have now launched a full investigation into the incident, but no one has been marked a suspect as of yet and no one has been taken into custody at the time of this article.

The stylist confirmed the devastating news in a series of Instagram stories to his followers. “Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. This is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. No one should have to bury a 3 yr old [sic] baby,” he stated in one.

Roach added in another, “I keep reading this over and over hoping to not recognize his name … my God!” as he included a Chicago Tribune article. Overwhelmed with all of the support he and his family have received since this sudden loss, the fashion stylist continued, “I love you all especially my Tribe.”

According to PEOPLE, the Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the little boy on Wednesday (Nov. 24) and conducted an autopsy the very next day on Thursday (Nov. 25), Thanksgiving Day.
