Masego has teamed up with Devin Morrison for their latest collaboration “Yamz.” The new single closely follows another celebratory hit from Masego titled “Garden Party” featuring Big Boi and JID, which has amassed 3.2 million combined streams since its release last month. The vibrant official video for “Yamz,” directed by Mac Grant, leans into the double entendre of the song’s playful title. The clip follows a cast of characters on their neighborhood journeys to get to the “yamz” as Devin takes the first verse:
I ain’t tryna be broke for the rest of my life (Broke for the rest of my life)/ Tryna get my bankroll swole no matter the price so I gotta shoot shots, gotta make my layups/ Gotta get my pay stubs up, you better pay up ’cause I moved to L.A. to get away from Uncle Sam
More recently, Masego can be heard dishing out plenty of assists within the last few weeks. He made an appearance on Sinead Harnett’s brand new Ready Is Always Too Late project alongside VanJess for the song “Stickin’.” ‘Sego also tapped in with ELHAE for their collab track “My City.”
Back in November of last year, Masego took us around the world with his sonically adventurous Studying Abroad EP. He then circled back around to release a deluxe version, cleverly titling it Studying Abroad: Extended Stay. Studying Abroad follows Masego’s official debut album Lady Lady, which included features from SiR, Tiffany Gouché, De’ Wayne Jackson, and FKJ. The TrapHouseJazz singer certainly hasn’t been mute since then, as he dropped off plenty of appearances on singles in 2020 alone, including “Golden Ticket” with Brasstracks and Common, “Good & Plenty” with Alex Isley and Jack Dine, “Stickin’” with Sinead and VanJess, along with his own singles “Veg Out,” and “King’s Rant.”
Be sure to press play on Masego and Devin Morrison’s brand new music video for “Yamz.”
