Today (Nov. 19), Bryson Tiller shared his A Different Christmas project, which was inspired by Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande and their classic holiday-themed bodies of work, along with reflections from one of Tiller’s “loneliest holiday seasons ever.” A Different Christmas includes features from Kiana Lede, Tayla Parx, Halo, Justin Bieber, and Poo Bear.
He pairs the project release with the official video for “lonely christmas” featuring Justin Bieber and Poo Bear. The visual opens up with a drowsy Bryson Tiller driving through the dessert in the middle of the night. He suddenly swerves off the road and gets knocked out, only to wake up as an animated figure who ventures off as Justin’s vocals play:
Right now, I be out there shoppin’ some of you call it trickin’ off/ The money never meant nothin’ to see you smile, you know that I’d blow it all/ We used to get our lights from Walmart and hang them up for the world to see, yeah/
Last fall, Tiller returned to the fold with his third studio LP A N N I V E R S A R Y, a 10-track body of work led by well-received singles like “Inhale,” “Always Forever,” and “Outta Time” — the last of which saw an assist from Drake. The album was both a critical and commercial success, landing Tiller within the top five of the Billboard 200 thanks to an impressive 57,000 first-week album equivalent units sold. Back in February, fans would also get a deluxe edition of A N N I V E R S A R Y with five extra songs and a collaboration alongside Big Sean.
