It’s been almost a decade since Hot Rizzle dropped off the well-received mixtape Out On Bail, a 17-track offering that saw additional features from many of his fellow Likeblood Ent. brethren — Biness Man E (then known as Yung E), BlackMan, Ol Boi Wes, Face Man, and Babymane Montana all contributed to the hard-hitting effort. Since then, the D.C. veteran has delivered on notable cuts like “VIP,” “John Wall,” “Let Me See It,” “Oh La La,” and “Pull Up.”
Re-inventing himself as Mr Jazzy Life, last month saw him making his official return with the new album My Life My Way, which, including the aforementioned, sees collaborations alongside Produca P, Ron Doub, E-Major Unruly, G-Town Wayne, Richie Starboi, and more. The project was led by the singles “Ain’t Me,” “Shake Shake,” and “Coupe,” the last of which is a Richie On The Beat-produced number that sees him rapping about his past life, current wins, and more:
“Jazzin’ out the roof, like who the fuck are you, flexin’ in the picture, 21 salute, they think they 21, knowin’ they ain’t bulletproof, on some weird shit, my shit say, ‘Get money fool,’ everything stamp a lot, top back on that foreign coupe, ridin’ wit’ your main thang, just call her boo, it’s a jazz-uation, always to the pavement, focused on this doe-chi…”
“Coupe” — which features fellow Uptown peer KDY Slim — also came with a matching visual that begins with a short tribute to late rapper Buggz Da Great, along with a radio interview clip that sees Mr Jazzy Life keeping it real about his upbringing and decisions in life:
“I come from a good home, you know, raised right, I just chose to be the person I am, you know what I mean?”
