Now, after nearly two decades, Remedy is back with the announcement of his first solo album Remedy Meets Wu-Tang. The project includes appearances from Ghostface Killah, RZA, Method Man, INS Deck, Cappadonna, Masta Killa, Shyheim, Killah Priest and Conway The Machine among others. After releasing his “Death Defying” single and video with INS Deck, Remedy returns with a new preview, the freshly released “The Pulpit” which features Ghostface Killah, Conway The Machine, and Cappadonna. On the track, Cappadonna kicks it off with his verse before being joined by Conway:
This is the street life right here in the pulpit, where n***as hustle all night, goons be shooting shit/ Keep your family in the house, lock your doors tonight, every hood where I come from the wars are like
I cooked the best work, my shit sell well/ Fingertips blistered all night back in 1212 mama said your bullshit gonna get you in the jail cell/ Fuck it, longest money on my books and I get messed up (I ain’t trippin’)
Remedy’s deep-rooted ties with Wu-Tang Clan covers over twenty years. Despite several major label offers, he insisted on releasing his solo debut, The Genuine Article back in (2001) independently and it went on to sell over 100K units. Remedy also executive produced Inspectah Deck’s Manifesto album (2010), and his last release The 9th Chamber (2019), as well as Cappadonna’s The Struggle (2003) and Return Of The Swarm (2010). Remedy also executive produced Ghostface’s Ghostface Killahs’ (2019) and appeared in RZA’s Domestic Violence Film.
“No one can ever take away the accomplishments, achievements, and life changing influences, these legends have contributed to the game,” he says along with the new project announcement. “I consider all of these brothers family, as well as friends. It’s too easy to try and tear someone down. We need to lift each other up. My new album features nothing but Wu Generals. Gonna blow a lot of shit out the water.
