At the top of the month, MixedByAli shared the exciting news that he is launching his very own record label, NoName Recordings. In tandem with the launch, NoName has revealed its first artist, Malik Moses, a rising singer and songwriter out of Baltimore. Moses tapped Dreamville’s very own Bas for his debut single, “Show Me Something.” On the track, Malik rides some smooth production with ease:
Show me, show me something I hate that I’m lovin’ you, uh, I say it like I know it’s true, uh/ ’Cause girl this ain’t nothing new, better show me, show me something, I hate that I’m lovin’ you, uh/ I say it like I know it’s true, uh ’cause girl this ain’t nothing new
Better show me, show me something, I can not imagine being the n***a I is without the madness/ I been maccing, please understand who I am (Stand), this shit been my tactic since playing back in the sand (Sand)/ Kicked up out the palace I been preparing the ship (Ooh)
“I’ve been blessed with a career that has given me the opportunity to be involved in some of the biggest records released over the past decade,” Ali said in a statement Monday about the exciting new venture. “With this new venture, we are now enabled to be even more hands-on with developing and curating the new sounds of tomorrow.”
In terms of other recent collabs, Bas joined Price and Wyclef Jean for their “Selfish” collab single, and also tapped in with The Hics once again for “Smoke From Fire.” He also used his voice and influence to speak on topics important to him as he hosted Dreamville’s podcast, The Messenger, which will help share a story about the fight for freedom in Uganda. Back in July, Bas linked up with J. Cole and Lil TJay for “The Jackie.”
Be sure to press play on “Show Me Something” by Malik Moses featuring Bas.
