Today (Nov. 5), the multi-award-winning and chart-topping Sean Paul reunites with Sia to release the official visual for their “Dynamite” collaboration. Produced by Banx & Ranx and Greg Kurstin, the upbeat single relies on dancehall-centric beats, Paul’s comfort zone of expertise. The new video gives viewers a peek into the new tech fueled and chrome filled world of Kingston, Jamaica in the future as the infectious lyrics play:
Dynamite, oh, dynamite, oh/ light me up and set me free (Bidi-bang-bang-bang)/ Baby girl, you’re the bomb-diddy-bomb, the only one for me (Straight) over and over, I tell you this, girl, that you no miss no day (No time)/ Lovin’ your style and your profile, girl, and the way how you get busy (Do it, girl)/
Sean Paul recently shared his other single “Only Fanz” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. It’s been about seven years since Sean Paul dropped his sixth studio album Full Frequency, his final album under the Atlantic Records umbrella. The project saw 14 cuts and additional appearances from Damian Marley, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, Nicki Minaj, Konshens, Iggy Azalea, and more. Since then, the legendary artist liberated the EP Mad Love the Prequel, and more recently delivered loose singles like “Shot & Wine” with Stefflon Don, “Boasty” with Wiley, “Contra La Pared” with J Balvin, “When It Comes To You,” and “Bad Inna Bed,” among others.
Of the new song, Sean Paul says, “’Dynamite’ started out as just a good vibe song. After recording ‘Cheap Thrills’ Sia and I knew we would record another single and ‘Dynamite’ is the second installment.” The track marks a highly anticipated follow-up collaboration between the genre-bending artists since their smash hit “Cheap Thrills,” also produced by Greg Kurstin, which has racked up over 1.6 billion YouTube views since its 2016 release.
