About a year ago, Mario blessed the masses with the EP Closer To Mars, a five-track offering that more than certainly had fans hoping that a new album would be arriving somewhere down the line. Last February, he released a new single titled “Luxury Love,” further adding fuel to the fire.
Today (Oct. 28), the Baltimore crooner keeps the music coming with “Get Back,” a collaboration alongside Chris Brown that sees production from Rhys, Elyas, TBHits, Dre Moon, and SprngBrk. Simply put, the soulful offering and its subject matter is perfect for your adults only playlist, or a night with that special someone:
“We met somewhere in a dream, tossin’, turnin’, can’t get no sleep, slow down, feel the rush, turn love into lust, baby, one night ain’t enough, gotta get back to your body, when I close my eyes, I feel you wrapped around me, I need it, need it, gotta get back to your body, yeah, girl, you’re flawless like the diamonds in my tongue piercin’, gotta get back, so icy, girl…”
It’s been three years since Mario released his fifth LP Dancing Shadows, which contained 11 cuts and a single appearance from blues legend Buddy Guy. Nine years prior to that, he dropped off D.N.A., Mario’s last full length release under his J Records deal — Gucci Mane, Big Sean, and “Verzuz” darling Sean Garrett all assisted on the genre-bending, top ten charting effort. Meanwhile, Chris Brown liberated his ninth album Indigo back in 2019, which (prior to its Extended version) boasted a whopping 30 songs and contributions from the likes of Tank, Trey Songz, Tory Lanez, H.E.R., Juicy J, Tyga, Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy, Drake, Gunna, Lil Wayne, and more. Currently, the Virginia talent is said to be working on his own new album titled Breezy.
