Aminé makes his return this week with his brand new single “Charmander.” The song was first previewed by Aminé at the Governor’s ball music festival and teased later on with a snippet on Oct. 22. “Charmander” arrives with a creative music video directed by Adam Daniel and Jack Begert, complete with eye distortion and giant dogs bigger than Aminé’s house. On the track, he flows over the beat courtesy of Lido and Aksel Arvid:
I-I’ve been livin’ on an island too, I-I’ve been livin’ on an island too (Yeah) t ell me, can we—?/ Shawty suck my dick, then I got lost in the abyss, I’m a quiet motherfucker but I like to talk my shit/ I’m off a shroom, I’m off a bean, I’m off a whole lotta shit, you could bet I’m in my head but you could bet I’m in your bitch (Livin’—) Look, these n***as be my sons; without me, they’d be done/
The “REEL IT IN” rapper also took some time to share some words of appreciation for the relentless support along the way. “A lot of these songs are made with no expectations so it means a lot when we can have something to hang up at the crib,” he captions his photo with his plaques. “Thank you to my team, the fans, producers, and engineers who made these happen.”
Back in August of last year, Aminé released his Limbo album, the 14-track project that boasted a polished sound and features from Young Thug, JID, Summer Walker, Charlie Wilson, Vince Staples, and others. A few months later, the Portland rapper circled back around for the deluxe version of his beloved project, as he added on seven brand new tracks and brand new features from names like Saba, Toosii, Valee, and more.
