There’s no question about it that Young Thug is one of the best rappers to come out of Atlanta. With the city’s memorable history of having the rap game in a chokehold for years, it is really no surprise the type of star that Thugger has become since the release of his self-released mixtape I Came From Nothing back in 2011. The world obviously did not see it back then due to numerous other factors at the time, but Young Thug has proven himself time and time again to be amongst the elite when it comes to this rap shit. With 2021 almost coming to an end, the Young Stoner Life Records general presents the world with an early Christmas present by the name of PUNK.
PUNK serves as Thug’s sophomore studio effort and is the perfect follow up to his RIAA certified platinum debut album So Much Fun (released in 2019). Having a successful run over recent years with a number of successful guest features, Young Thug has clearly been gearing up for this moment for a while the public was viewing things from the naked eye. On Tuesday night (October 12), Thugger took the promotion for PUNK to another level by absolutely demolishing a brand new Rolls Royce Wraith with no regard for human life alongside his crew. Thug, Gunna and Metro Boomin were among those with baseball bats in their hand as they took turns repeatedly smashing the luxury car’s windows, which were spray painted with the word “Punk” in pink.
Thug and Gunna seemingly took a page out of JAY-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne playbook. Back in 2011, Hov and Ye famously shocked every luxury car fanatic in the world by destroying a Maybach 57 like it was a Honda Civic as part of their opulent “Otis” video. As far as the PUNK album goes, this is not the typical Thug project where it’s all turn up and hits but it is geared more towards storytelling more than anything. Tap in!
