Last night (Oct. 4), Dreamville’s very own Lute unleashed his latest project Gold Mouf. The new offering includes 13 tracks and boasts appearances from names like labelmates J.I.D, Cozz, and Ari Lennox, in addition to Saba, Westside Boogie, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more. At the top of the album, he made sure to include one of his fan-favorite tracks “GED (Gettin Every Dolla).” On his verse, he reflects on his journey and even shouts out a pivotal era for the Day 1 J. Cole fans:

Just got in the habit of switching the flow, just trying to travel the globe/ Tired of being under looked in this bitch, tired of hearing “I can’t wait till you blow”/ Had to step out of my shell for a bit, cuzzo told me put my foot on they throat/

Had to let go of some n***as last year wish they’d let my n***a out on parole/ N***as used to bump The Warm Up by Cole/ My n***a used to warm the house with the stove/ Shit, if he made it out of this bitch, ain’t no telling where my talent

Dreamville’s head honcho Ibrahim made sure to share some words of encouragement for Lute ahead of the project’s debut. “This Lute album is special,” he types. “I appreciate artist that are always themselves and you feel everything they going through in they music. Can’t wait for y’all to hear this Gold Mouf album, excited for Lute.”

With the aforementioned Gold Mouf Chronicles, Lute discussed how multiple family members also have anxiety and that when he was young, he had open-heart surgery, leaving his future up to fate. Some recent features include his appearances on Madden ‘21 and the Platinum super album Revenge of the Dreamers IIIcompilation as well as its predecessor Revenge of the Dreamers II. He also spit a verse on Deniro Farrar’s Exhibit Q album and Autumn Rainwater’s lowkey highkey. In 2020, Lute joined Stockz for their collab track “Manhattan” and also dropped off his own singles “Get It And Go” featuring Blakk Soul, “GED (Gettin Every Dolla)” and “Life.”
