Teyana Taylor is going on her final tour. On Wednesday (Sept. 22), the “Bare Wit Me” singer announced “The Last Rose Petal Farewell Tour” along with a touching post reflecting on her career on Instagram.
“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard…. However, for every goodbye, God makes the next hello closer,” she wrote. “Come out and watch me leave it all out on the stage… One last time… Just for you & as my last rose petal falls, I say farewell.”
The tour will run from Nov. 5 to Nov. 30 with stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, New York City, Silver Spring, Maryland; Philadelphia, Mashantucket, Connecticut; and Atlanta. However, Taylor wrote in her caption, more dates and cities will be added.
Fans can purchase pre-sale tickets to the tour tomorrow (Sept. 23), while general sale begins on Friday (Sept. 24) at 10 a.m. local time.
Taylor announced her retirement from music last December. The Harlem native released her third studio album The Album last summer, which went on to debut at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, becoming her first Top 10 debut. However, after being snubbed by the 2021 Grammy nominations, she complained about “receiving little to no real push” from her label and feeling “super underappreciated.”
“I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that I can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world!” she wrote in a post at the time. However, she left the door open for other, non-musical endeavors.
“All hustlers have the understanding that when one door closes another will open,” she added. “Either that or I’m pickin da locks petunia!!!”
