Jon Bellion makes his official return today (Sept. 17) with his brand new single “I FEEL IT” featuring Nigeria’s very own Burna Boy. The new offering is his first new single since 2019’s “Crop Circles” and “Good Things Fall Apart,” his Platinum-certified collaboration with ILLENIUM. On the track, the two bounce off each other’s energy perfectly as they go back and forth for the hook:
You ain’t got to say one word to me, one word, because I feel it, I feel it/ I feel it, I feel it, I feel it, I feel the change in your energy/ I see you got a lot of feelings that you’rе never tellin’ mе, Oh-oh, oh-oh, I feel it, s o I guess it’s silly me/ I really thought we could be somethin’ we could never ever be
According to a Genius annotation, Jon actually previewed a solo version of the song back on Dec.10, 2020 during a virtual afterparty, agreeing with a fan that “anxiety funk” was a great way to describe it. Now that the track is out, Jon Bellion somewhat still agrees with the description, as he speaks about the record having a certain aura around it. “There is a heaviness all around that I can’t describe,” he says about the record via press release. “All I know is that I feel it and I think Burna can, too.”
We are officially past the one-year mark for Burna Boy’s fifth studio LP Twice as Tall, a well-received body of work that contained 15 tracks with additional features from Youssou N’Dour, Naughty by Nature, Sauti Sol, Chris Martin, and Stormzy. The project landed on charts around the world upon its release, and even topped Billboard’s World Albums chart in the process. Twice as Tall also won Burna Boy his first Grammy for Best Global Music Album.
