2021 marks 11 years since Dappy liberated his debut LP Bad Intentions, a top ten release that, including the deluxe edition, saw 21 tracks with additional assists from Tinchy Stryder, Brian May, Margs, Benny Banks, and more. Since then, the British talent liberated an EP, Eros Apollo, and a slew of well-received loose singles, including “Spotlight,” “Trill,” “Freaky” with Swarmz and Poundz, “Not Today” with Tory Lanez and The Plug, “Motorola” with Da Beatfreakz, Swarmz and Deno, and “Oh My” with Ay Em — the last of which earned Dappy his latest Platinum certification.
Soon, the N-Dubz alum will liberate his sophomore album titled Fortune, which is led by the previously released cuts “Intro,” “Wounds,” and “Bolo” with Abra Cadabra. This month, he adds to that with “Antigua,” a Maze Beats and Ayoludo-produced number that features current drill frontrunners M24 and BackRoad Gee. As such, Dappy effortlessly adapts the style with quick-changing bars about his reckless, rockstar lifestyle:
“Got a ting from Antigua, she loves smokin’ Cali’, but she hates amnesia, she got a man at home, but she keeps on comin’ to the spot, so I gotta conceal her, from a pitney, I had a choice I could be a rapper, robber, scammer, or a dealer, yo, I tried all three I see a man OD, but I’d rather get P for my feature, bin bag money don’t fit in no briefcaseYou know me, I spin tracks like a DJ…”
Courtesy of Bravo, the accompanying visual sees Dappy with his collaborators in a room with two high-end whips. Elsewhere, he hits up a party with his crew and some beautiful women — a clear indication that the multi-talented legend is as on top of the world as ever.
Fans can press play on Dappy, M24, and BackRoad Gee’s “Antigua” below. Fortune officially makes landfall Oct. 8.
