Rick Ross is the latest celebrity to partake in the viral Crate Challenge — but he used cases of Luc Belaire champagne.
On Wednesday (Aug. 25), the “Aston Martin Music” emcee took to his Instagram Stories to share videos of himself doing the challenge. “It’s the biggest boss in the game, Ricky Rozay,” he said in the clip. “I been called out. This the Luc Belaire case challenge. Let’s go.” He then walked up three levels of the boxes. Before he was able to step on the highest level, the video ended. Unfortunately, fans were not able to see whether or not Rozay completed the challenge.
The Crate Challenge was first posted on Facebook earlier this month. Most of the viral videos have shown people taking hard falls, however, a few people were able to successfully make it to the other side. It’s unclear how many serious or minor injuries have been sustained from walking up the milk crates.
Doctors are now urging people to refrain from partaking in the challenge. Dr. Vonda Wright, an orthopedic surgeon in Atlanta, said she has been sharing videos of the Crate Challenge and encouraging her followers to avoid it. “This is probably the one that I’ve seen that has the highest potential for bodily injury that will take people out not just of their daily lives, but could have lifelong implications,” she said.
Social media platforms such as TikTok have disabled the ability to search for videos of the Crate Challenge and are now working to remove the videos. “TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content. We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off,” a TikTok spokesperson said to NBC News.
