Two generations collide as Earth, Wind, & Fire release their new single. Today (Aug 20), th nine-time GRAMMY Award-winning icons and one of the best-selling artists of all time release a reimagined version of their classic hit “Can’t Hide Love,” titled “You Want My Love” with a feature from R&B favorite Lucky Daye. The seamless blend of Lucky’s vocals with the signature Earth, Wind, & Fire funk make for a collab that will withstand the test of time as the lyrics ride over some production courtesy of Babyface:
You ain’t gotta say much, I can tell that love means somethin’ to you/ And when we ain’t talkin’, your thoughts keep tellin’ you you’re feelin’ me too/ So why you keep it bottled up? Open, open, let me show you what I could do
Speaking of the track, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Philip Bailey shares, “I am super hyped about this all-star collaboration – Earth, Wind & Fire, Lucky Daye, and Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds producing. It was an honor to join forces with these two superstars, and I truly believe we’ve created a winner all the way.”
In terms of other recent collabs from Lucky Daye, he recently joined VanJess for their official remix of “Slow Down” earlier this month. He also appeared on Sinéad Harnett’s sophomore album Ready Is Always Too Late and assisted BJ The Chicago Kid for “Make You Feel Good.” Earlier this year, Lucky Daye released his Table For Two EP, which features assists from Mahalia, Ari Lennox, Queen Naija, and Joyce Wrice. In 2019, Lucky Daye shared his Painted project back in 2019, a featureless project that boasts his mega-hit “Roll Some Mo” and also cuts like “Late Night” and “Karma.” The following year, he added six additional tracks and presented a deluxe version of the project.
