Next month, hip hop legend AZ will make a big return with his new album Doe or Die II, the sequel to his iconic 1995 debut Doe or Die. This go ‘round, fans will get 13 dope cuts with additional features from Idris Elba, Rick Ross, Conway The Machine, Lil Wayne, Dave East, and more. Surprisingly, his Empire State counterpart Nas doesn’t look to be providing a verse on the forthcoming LP.
Following last year’s “Found My Niche” and “Different,” the Brooklyn emcee liberates a new single from Doe or Die II titled “The Wheel,” which features Jaheim and sees the artists speaking to the ups and downs of life over production from Eric Hall and Kay Gee:
“Luxury car livin’, I’m island hoppin’, the album’s droppin’, D’ussé champagne and Henny gallons poppin’, procеssin’ the accolades of life, calculatin’ thе hate, evaluatin’ the price, it’s known, on style alone, I can carry my own, calm demeanor, dough with various tones, I raise hell, when ya future’s as fresh as ya sneakers you age well, from the beeper era of reefer puffers that make bail…”
The accompanying visual for “The Wheel” matches the classy vibe of the track, with AZ and Jaheim performing the track in what looks like a lavish residence with beautiful women and plenty of libations to enjoy.
Check out both AZ’s “The Wheel” video with Jahiem — directed by Gerard Victor — and the full tracklisting for Doe or Die II, which officially makes landfall September 10.
