Dipset and The LOX put up a fierce fight during last night’s (Aug. 3) Verzuz battle, but for many viewers, it was Jadakiss who stole the show. From his hilarious antics to his closing freestyle over Biggie’s “Who Shot Ya,” The LOX frontman had viewers cracking up and admiring his skills.
Many people — who either attended the battle at New York City’s Madison Square Garden or tuned in via livestream — declared The LOX as the victorious group in the battle. This means Jada is now the first rapper to win two Verzuz showdowns, as many also declared him the winner of his solo mash-up against Fabolous last June.
Fellow artists, celebrities and fans gave Jada his flowers. On Twitter, Tyler, the Creator hailed the 46-year-old as the “MVP.” The Odd Future rapper also sounded off on the Instagram livestream, writing, “Pause I think I gotta crush on Jadakiss that ni**a confidence and voice control is crazy and he aged well wheesh.”
On Twitter, a fan wrote, “Jadakiss went through two different #Verzuz and ran each one, solo and with a crew. It’s proper time we rewrite the books on how gotdamn special he is at this rapping/performing/entertainment thing.”
“I will never in my motherfuckin life doubt Jadakiss again. In anything. Ever,” another tweeted.
“Jadakiss smoked Fab and Dipset by himself… Now ya’ll understand why Kiss is Top 5 dead or alive,” a third person wrote.
As reported by REVOLT, The LOX and Dipset’s Verzuz battle drew the eyes of many celebrity viewers, such as Victor Cruz, Angie Martinez, Warren G, Jesse Williams, Yandy Smith, Anthony Hamilton, Amber Rose, Quavo, Remy Ma and several more. Over 600,000 people ultimately tuned in online to watch the event go down, not to mention the in-person crowd, which boasted the likes of Joell Ortiz, Fat Joe, Carmelo Anthony and more.
