A few weeks ago, BJ The Chicago Kid announced he would be kicking off his “BJ Wednesdays” by releasing a new song every week to hold fans over in between each drop. Those releases all came together for a brand new four-track EP 4AM, which was released over the weekend (July 26). One of the stand-out previews was the Lucky Daye-assisted “Make You Feel Good” and on the track, BJ makes sure to set the tone:
Ex been on me, got too faded, fucked around and G’d it/ Then she cheated on me, now look at me, singing this song (Yeah) You got me in a position where I ain’t got no other choice, but to straighten up/ I admit my wrongs, ‘cause baby
You know you got me for life and I ain’t going nowhere (Nowhere)/ Whoever he was don’t matter to me, so I don’t care(Fuck him)/ Yeah, we both made our mistakes because we miss the love we made/ We’ve been through it, and I just wanna make you feel good
Also featured on the new EP are his previously released tracks like “Type of Day” featuring Eric Bellinger and the intro track “Fancy,” which is a cover of The Dream’s “Fancy.” The brand new release comes paired with the newest and final track “Love You Slow” to round out the project.
This year has treated BJ The Chicago kid well, as he has solidified collaborations with names like Chika, PJ Morton and was even featured on the soundtrack for the Academy Award winning film, Judas And The Black Messiah. Also recently, BJ released a track entitled “The Chi”, which was featured on the Showtime original series, The Chi created by Lena Waithe.
