It’s official — Pop Smoke has the No. 1 album in America.

The late Brooklyn-drill rapper scored his second consecutive posthumous No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard announced Sunday (July 25). According to Chart Data, Pop is the first artist in history to posthumously debut his first two studio albums at the top of the Billboard chart.

Faith, which was released on July 16, earned 88,000 album-equivalent units in the U.S. in the week ending July 22, according to MRC Data. He also sold 4,000 copies in pure album sales.

Pop has lived on the Billboard 200 since the release of his debut album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon. That album landed at No. 1 on the chart almost exactly a year ago and spent two nonconsecutive weeks in the top spot. According to MRC Data it was the No. 3 most popular album of 2020 and is currently the most popular hip hop album of 2021. Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon charted on the Billboard 200 for 52 weeks, according to Billboard and is approaching diamond status in sales.

The 88,000 album-equivalent units Faith earned is a bit short of the 110,000-120,000 projection HITS Daily Double predicted a week ago. Yet it was still enough to beat out John Mayer’s latest album Sob Rock.

Pop’s 20-track album is jam-packed with features, including appearances by Rick Ross, The-Dream, Kanye West, Pusha T, Takeoff, Quavo, Chris Brown, Future, Lil Tjay, Swae Lee, Pharrell, Dua Lipa and more. This week, a deluxe version of Faith, equipped with four bonus tracks, was released. It includes verses from OnPointLikeOP, G Herbo, Killa, Dread Woo and TRAVI. The rapper would have celebrated his 22nd birthday on Tuesday (July 20). His fans took to social media to celebrate his special day anyways with posts declaring their love for Pop and his music.
