Keyshia Cole has shared a touching tribute to her late mother Frankie Lons who sadly passed away last weekend. As reported by REVOLT, Frankie died while celebrating her 61st birthday on Sunday (July 18).
On Instagram, Keyshia posted a series of pictures of her and her mother throughout the years.
“This is so hard man. Can’t really even find the words. SMH,” the R&B star wrote. “I honestly don’t even know how to feel. You can never prepare for something like this… Ever!!! But you will be missed. It’s crazy because… For weeks I’ve been quoting you, from the goose that laid the golden egg, to calling Neffe shoes slow burners, cause they were bought scuffed up already… Your humor was unmatched!!! Naturally so funny, that’s what I loved about your personality… We all did.”
“I created this post to show my love and appreciation for your life and I would like to thank my fans + supporters, shoot your supporters and fans, for being here with us during these hard times, and the love that you all have for us,” she continued. “The love for all your children was definitely felt.”
The “Last Night” singer added, “When u said all you want is to have ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN IN ONE PLACE, AT ONE TIME meant the most to you… I’m completely down to do that for you. Even through our differences …. WE LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Frank da bank!”
Keyshia’s brother Sam previously told TMZ that their mom passed away from a drug overdose. However, her official cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Keyshia and Frankie’s relationship was well-documented on the BET reality TV show, “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is.” Frankie also became a star in her own right through her spinoff show with her daughter Neffe Pugh, “Frankie & Neffe.”
We at REVOLT continue to send our condolences to Keyshia and Frankie’s family at this time. See her post below.
