This past weekend, Migos blessed the masses with the third installment of their popular Culture series. Unlike this album’s predecessor, Culture III sees the North Atlanta trio holding their own throughout the 19-track offering, with minimal assistance from Drake, Justin Bieber, Cardi B, Polo G, Future, Juice WRLD, Pop Smoke, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Looking to keep the momentum going, the group delivers another visual from the project for “Why Not,” which sees production from Quavo and DJ Durel. Much the the rest of the album, the hard-hitting cut is packed with lyrics about streets and their rich, exuberant lifestyles:
“Get money, why not? I sell a brick on your block, you think shit sweet, but you know now, I fuck your bitch in your spot, young nigga run around too hot, young nigga burnt out, burnt out, 12 pulling up so we burnt out, sweet lil’ bitch, now she turnt out…”
The accompanying clip for “Why Not” sees Migos with their crews on a Jamaican excursion, complete with four-wheelers, plenty of jewelry and smoke, and more. Dancehall star Popcaan even makes a cameo appearance in the FOMO-styled clip.
As previously reported by REVOLT, Culture III is currently expected to sell between 125 to 135 thousand album equivalent units following its first full week of release, with 5 to 8 thousand of that figure coming from traditional sales. Currently, that puts them on a trajectory for the number two spot on the Billboard 200, behind Polo G’s third studio album Hall of Fame. If so, then Culture III would be Migos’ first body of work to miss the top spot on the aforementioned chart since their official debut, 2015’s Yung Rich Nation.
