G Perico is easily one of the more prolific artists in hip hop right now. In the first half of 2021, the South Central emcee released four projects — No Love In LA, Lover Boy Slim, Free, and Welcome To The Land, along with a slew of visuals for fans to enjoy. In addition to his own solo releases, Perico could also be heard contributing to dope cuts like Jay Worthy and Harry Fraud’s “Ice Cold,” Terrace Martin and Denzel Curry’s “Pig Feet,” Don Pablito’s “West Coast,” Garren’s “Heavy Metal,” Joey Fatts’ “None of That,” Donut Da Legend’s “Double Back,” Fatboy Bizzle’s “Feel Me Or Kill Me (Remix),” TruCarr’s “What I See,” and — most recently — Griff Tyler’s “Wassup.”

This past weekend, he added to that with Blue T-Shirt Leaks, a four-track EP that contains songs first heard throughout last year. One particular standout, the CBeatz-produced “One More Day,” sees Perico opening up about mortality in the wake of Nipsey Hussle’s tragic passing:

“I been really paranoid since they killed Nip, got me looking at my homies all funny and shit, niggas say look at me like the enemy, shit rub me wrong instantly, now I, can’t trust you, can’t trust them, he plotting on me and y’all niggas friends, they building up hate for a nigga, can’t let my life get took away from a nigga, leave the city where you from like Boosie say, but I can’t do that ‘cause I’m too L.A…”

The artwork and title for the quick-strike release also points to G Perico’s Blue T-Shirt clothing brand, which is currently celebrating their one-year anniversary — complete with a dope new drop of tees and sweatshirts emblazoned with a special logo commemorating the achievement.
