Roddy Ricch and The Weeknd made history at last night’s (May 27) 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, which was broadcast to a vaccinated live audience at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. The evening featured a star-studded lineup of presenters — including French Montana, LL Cool J and Nelly — and performances.

As he’s done at countless awards shows since releasing his album After Hours, The Weeknd cleaned house at last night’s event. The singer’s “Blinding Lights” won Song of the Year, Titanium Song of the Year and TikTok Bop of the Year. He was also honored as the Titanium Artist of the Year and won Male Artist of the Year for the first time. The Weeknd is now the third Canadian artist to win the latter award, following Justin Bieber and Drake.

Roddy Ricch took home the awards for Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Best New Hip Hop Artist. According to Billboard, he’s the first artist ever to win in both categories simultaneously. The Compton native also took home the trophy for Hip Hop Song of the Year for his chart-topping hit, “The Box.”

Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé also went down in history last night. Their “Savage (Remix)” became the second female-fronted collaboration in iHeartRadio history to win Best Collaboration. Six years ago, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J and Ariana Grande became the first women to achieve the feat with their song, “Bang Bang.”

Meanwhile, Lil Baby’s My Turn nabbed him the Hip Hop Album of the Year award and H.E.R. was named Female R&B Artist of the Year. Jhene Aiko also took home the R&B Album of the Year award for her Grammy-nominated effort, Chilombo; Snoh Aalegra was dubbed Best New R&B Artist; and Chris Brown and Young Thug’s “Go Crazy” won Best R&B Collaboration.
