Back in November of last year, Masego took us around the world with his sonically adventurous Studying Abroad EP. He then circled back around to release a deluxe version, cleverly titling it Studying Abroad: Extended Stay. The multitalented artist made sure to provide visuals for the new additional tracks to enhance the experience, and the latest is for “Smith & Westin,” which finds him in immersed in nature as he delivers his verse:

Shoot my tongue if you want, lil’ mama, I can’t talk, say nothin’, lil’ mama/ Love is war if you want, lil’ mama, bust them shot then bring that drama/ You wanna fight in public, you got a knife, well, I ain’t bluffing

So meet in the middle of town/ Where the saloon doors swing left and right/ True, right, we gon’ fight (Fight)/ Say hello to the Smith & Wesson, Smith & Wesson

Earlier this month, Masego released the TrapHouseJazz Remix of “Mystery Lady,” which is exclusive to the deluxe edition. After collecting over 80 million combined global streams for “Mystery Lady,” he performed the track live on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Of course he was joined by Don Toliver, who features on the original version of the song.

Studying Abroad follows Masego’s official debut album Lady Lady, which included features from SiR, Tiffany Gouché, De’ Wayne Jackson, and FKJ. The TrapHouseJazz singer certainly hasn’t been mute since then, as he dropped off plenty of appearances on singles in 2020 alone, including “Golden Ticket” with Brasstracks and Common, “Good & Plenty” with Alex Isley and Jack Dine, “Stickin’” with Sinead and VanJess, along with his own singles “Veg Out,” and “King’s Rant.” ‘Sego also participated in last year’s virtual BET Awards, gifting the viewers a new rendition of his popular Lady Lady track “Queen Tings.”
