Next month, Gucci Mane will bless the masses with his fifteenth studio LP Ice Daddy. Following its lead single – the BIG30-assisted “Shit Crazy” – comes a new banger titled “Poppin,” which features New 1017 signee BigWalkDog and sees production from PabloMCR. Both artists deliver a barrage of bars about street life and reaching financial success:
“When you poppin’, every time you move, you gotta move with a rocket, lookin’ at this drip, you see a pool in the faucet, designer hit the mil’, come straight from the trap, and got a coconut scale, but it hit like we boxin’, she always ate the dick, but she still say it toxic, she know I got racks, so she do it more sloppy, off a Percocet, I can’t feel my body, but she ain’t gettin’ shit outta none of these pockets…”
Courtesy of Omar The Director comes a matching visual that sees Guwop and BigWalkDog in Miami, Florida, riding around in a red Rolls Royce with matching 1017 chains. In addition to shots with his crew, BigWalkDog also accompanies his boss to a packed party, further cementing his introduction to a new life shared by fellow cohorts like Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Big Scarr.
Gucci’s last official album, Woptober II, made landfall back in 2019. The project came with 13 tracks and a slew of assists from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, Quavo, Kevin Gates, Peewee Longway, OJ Da Juiceman, and more. Woptober II also peaked at the number nine spot on the Billboard 200, making it Gucci’s seventh top 10 album overall. Since then, Gucci kept the momentum going with a mixtape, East Atlanta Santa 3, and the compilation releases So Icy Summer and So Icy Gang Vol. 1, both of which heavily featured his New 1017 roster. Post-“Verzuz,” he also liberated a greatest hits of sorts with Trap God Classics: I Am My Only Competition.
