Lil Baby joined the family of George Floyd at the White House on Tuesday (May 25) as they pushed for police reform one year after his tragic death.

In photos and videos that have been shared across social media, the Quality Control emcee was seen standing behind members of the Floyd family and their attorneys as they spoke to the press about pushing for the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed.

This isn’t the first time the My Turn rapper has been linked to the family. Last December, he sponsored a birthday party for Gianna Floyd, the youngest daughter of Floyd.

The celebration included a socially distant L.O.L dolls-themed party at Atlanta’s Pink Hotel. Gianna was able to get her nails and hair done with friends and enjoy tons of colorful decorations and food.

On Tuesday (May 25), the Floyd family met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, told reporters they had a “great” meeting with Biden and Harris. “He’s a genuine guy,” he said. “They always speak from the heart. We’re just thankful for what’s going on and we just want the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed.”

Pres. Biden previously urged lawmakers to pass the bill by the one-year anniversary of Floyd’s death — which is May 25. However, the legislation has not been passed as members of Congress are battling about ending police immunity — which would hold officers accountable.

Brandon Williams, Floyd’s nephew, said the president told the family that he wasn’t happy the bill wasn’t passed by the initial deadline he set. “He did let us know that he supports passing the bill, but he wants to make sure that it’s the right bill and not a rushed bill,” Williams said.
