Gucci Mane’s New 1017 squad continues to take over the industry. Following big releases from Foogiano, Pooh Shiesty, and Big Scarr, Enchanting steps out with her latest single “Freaky Deaky,” a TraeWhatItDo-produced cut that features additional assistance from Coi Leray and lives up to its title with adult subject matter and references to a certain Adina Howard classic:
“I love a thug, call him ‘Daddy,’ I like to leave a nigga ‘lone, but when I do it, he harass me, choke me, squeeze me, and gag me, niggas be hatin’, but they just mad ‘cause they ain’t have me, I gotta freaky secret everybody’s seen, ‘cause we don’t give a damn about a thing…”
Directed by Todd Uno, the accompanying clip for “Freaky Deaky” is essentially an everyman’s fantasy, beginning with Enchanting and her crew of scantily-clad beauties moving seductively in a dark-lit living room — the Texas star also gets close and comfortable with her love interest throughout. Elsewhere, Leray joins her in a matching fur coat, performing from a terrace adjacent to the lavish residence where the clip was filmed.
During relatively recent years, Enchanting has been steadily building her momentum with well-received projects like Love & Drugs, 20, Enchanted, and 21. Last year, Enchanted saw a sequel that contained 13 cuts with contributions from TEC and JhonnieDamnD. Since then, she’s blessed her fans with loose cuts like “Ball & Lead” with K Shiday, “Dead Opps” with Scarr, “Want Sum,” and the So Icy Gang, Vol. 1 standout “1017 Loaded” with her New 1017 family. Her “Freaky Deaky” cohort Coi Leray has been doing big things as well, and is still sailing off the success of her breakout single “No More Parties.” Hopefully, both artists will be releasing full-length projects of their own sooner than later.
