Kevin Gates is thankfully unharmed after a car accident left his Lamborghini with considerable damage. According to TMZ, the “Big Gangsta” rapper was driving in Tarzana, California around 8 p.m. local time on Monday night (March 29) when he collided with a Toyota Prius. According to police, the woman driving the Prius ran a red stoplight before ramming into the side of Gates’ vehicle at an intersection.
According to TMZ, the crash caused Gates’ car to spin out of control. The $200,000 SUV finally slowed down to a complete stop about 100 feet away from the intersection, the outlet notes.
In a video taken after the crash by TMZ, Gates could be seen talking with the woman driver, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of her car with the door open. His car, meanwhile, was flashing its hazard lights down the road.
Police reportedly responded to the scene after being notified about the crash. Authorities facilitated an exchange of insurance information between both Gates and the other driver. Luckily, there were no reported injuries from the incident. However, Gates’ t-boned Lamborghini unfortunately sustained considerable damage.
Late last month, Gates released his most recent project, Only the Generals Part II. As reported by REVOLT, the 12-track offering served as a follow-up to the Baton Rouge native’s 2019 EP, Only the Generals Gon Understand. That year, Gates also released his full-length studio album I’m Him, which made it to the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 72,000 album equivalent units within its first week. Gates is currently working on his next full-length effort, reportedly titled Khaza. Along with Only the Generals Part II, the rapper also shared visuals for project cuts “Puerto Rico Luv” and “Plug Daughter 2.”
