People are torn when it comes to who would win in a Verzuz battle between Chris Brown and Usher. The hypothetical match-up has been the topic of discussion since the popular Instagram series was created last year and now Timbaland and Charlamagne Tha God are weighing in on who they believe would win.
On Wednesday (March 24), Swizz Beatz and his fellow Verzuz co-creator stopped by “The Breakfast Club” to speak about the new season of their hit battle show. While Charlamagne believes Usher would win against Breezy, Timbaland believes otherwise.
“Ain’t nobody catalog like Chris Brown’s,” the mega-producer said. “Come on now, don’t do that. Chris Brown got too much. He’s got like 50 bags, bro.”
“Against who though?” the “Breakfast Club” host responded. “Nah, Chris Brown against Usher, Usher wins that. Usher got 20 nuclear weapons. [Chris Brown] got weapons, but not nukes.” Timbaland disagreed, saying, “Chris Brown got 50 nuclear weapons.”
For now, fans can only dream about this battle actually taking place. Breezy previously said he would only go up against himself in Verzuz. “Only [Verzuz] ima do is CHRIS BROWN VS CHRIS BREEZY… not in competition with nobody but myself…” he captioned a now-deleted post from last summer.
While Chris may not be interested in participating, the next couple of Verzuz matchups are sure to bring in a high number of viewers. On Easter Sunday (April 4), The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire are set to go head-to-head.
After that, Redman and Method Man will face each other in an epic night of music for a “How High 4/20 Special.” There will also be a Mother’s Day special, which will feature an artist who has not yet been revealed. Additionally, two unnamed artists will partake in a rematch for Memorial Day weekend.
