It’s safe to say a majority of the artists in the game, if they could have it their way, would make the decision to own their masters. On Jackboy and Russ’ new single, they boast the power they have as they were able to lock down that very move. For the new “Own My Masters” track, Jackboy takes care of the first verse with his verse about how it feels to not be tied down to the system:
I done ran up a check, now I’m the one bitches chase after/ All these chains on my neck, I’m not a slave, I own my masters, I got that bread and stacked it up/ It get put on your head, my dog whacking stuff. I got her head and fell in love, she eat up that dick, ain’t no letting up/ This is not a Corvette, my Aventador go way faster, I could flex on my ex, it ain’t hard to see my new bitch badder/ I got ‘em hatin’ that I leveled up, but I’m rich, so no, I do not give a fuck/ Everywhere that I step, it’s a pistol tucked/ Send onе of your n***as to get one up
He dropped his Love Me While I’m Here project last December. It boasts 19 tracks with additional features from Rylo Rodriguez, Fredo Bang, Denzel Curry, Sada Baby, DeJ Loaf, Lil Mosey, Tyga, Juelz Santana, 42 Dugg, Sniper Gang crony Kodak Black, and more. From the album we’ve been able to enjoy visuals for cuts like “Feel It” and “Made It Out,” and more recently “Notice Me” with Tee Grizzley and “Enjoy Every Dolla” with Lil Mosey. Prior to that was the Living In History project, which includes 14 tracks and only one additional feature from Rylo Rodriguez aside from Tee Grizzley.
