Freddie Gibbs is not one to shy away from speaking about his life prior to becoming a famous rapper.
The “4 Thangs” emcee recently sat down for an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast to reveal a time where he shot a “crackhead” several times. “You know, this is some real shit because there’s a crackhead back in the day. I shot the nigga nine times with a TEC-9 and he kept running down the alley,” he said.
Freddie’s comments have gone viral and quite a few of his fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his statements.
Twitter user @MFTNBeats wrote, “Freddie Gibbs less than 2 minutes into Rogan’s podcast: ‘Yeah back in the day I shot a crackhead 9 times with a TEC-9 and that nigga didn’t stop running.’ His lawyer: [see meme below].”
“Bro, Freddie Gibbs really just straight up said he shot a crackhead 2 minutes in the biggest podcast in the world,” tweeted @ctrs_.
Social media user @chan_mutiny wrote, “Less than two minutes into the ‘Joe Rogan’ podcast: Freddie Gibbs: ‘Yea, I shot a crackhead 9 times back in the day with a TEC-9 & that nigga kept going.’ Me: ‘Aight, I’m listening.’”
Aside from his wild stories, Freddie has been doing his thing musically. Alfredo, which is his collaborative album with The Alchemist, was released last May. The project is currently nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album alongside D Smoke’s Black Habits, Jay Electronica’s A Written Testimony, Nas’ King’s Disease, and Royce Da 5’9”’s The Allegory.
“I told y’all niggaz,” the “Scottie Beam” rapper previously tweeted after learning about his first Grammy nod. “I actually told y’all last year too.
Alfredo peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart. It has also become Freddie’s highest-charting album to date.
