Rihanna isn’t completely over Daniel Cameron’s management of the Breonna Taylor case.
On Monday (Feb. 1), the Kentucky attorney general shared a post on Twitter to kick off Black History Month, calling for Americans to “take the time to remember and celebrate the contributions Black men and women have made to our Commonwealth and to our nation.” Shortly after, the Fenty Beauty CEO came across the tweet and responded with a brief, yet concise message. “Sup nigga? #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor.”
Rihanna was one of many people who were infuriated when Cameron announced only Brett Hankinson — one of three officers present at the time of Taylor’s shooting — would be indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment — charges unrelated to the late EMT’s murder.
After the upsetting grand jury results, the ANTI star expressed her anger via a photo of a protest sign that read, “A cop shot a Black woman and was only charged for the shots missed.” She addressed the attorney general in the caption to the Instagram post, writing, “I’m just gon’ let this sink in to your hollow skull @danieljaycameron.”
Grand jurors in the case have also vented their frustrations with Cameron, who never presented them with the option to indict the officers for shooting Taylor. Most recently, they filed a petition demanding his impeachment for neglecting his duties and mishandling the grand jury reports.
Despite all of the backlash, the Kentucky AG is reportedly very “proud” of the way he handled Taylor’s investigation. “I’m proud of the work that my team of special prosecutors did,” Cameron said during a recent press conference. “I’m confident in the work that they did and completely understand that this process has to unfold. And I’ll allow that process to speak for itself.”
He continued, “…Sometimes people aren’t always going to agree with you 100 percent. And I understand that.”
