Around this time last year, Brent Faiyaz unleashed his Fuck The World EP, and it has stayed in rotation among R&B lovers’ playlists. Today he’s officially making his return once again with a new collab that’s sure to please patient fans, as he teams up with Tyler The Creator and DJ Dahi for his latest song “Gravity.” On the track, Brent compares the force he feels from his girl to the force that keeps the planets in orbit:
She hold me down like gravity. We on front page of them blogs. Would you be mad at me if the whole world knew the shit we was on?/ It would be tragedy. My n***as be globe-trottin’ like travel teams. You always in my travel dreams. Lace up, two, three stripes and I’m gone/ But you just want me home. Shorty hit my jack like, “What the fuck you doin? ”Bitch, I’m all alone (She hold me down) You gon’ press me now? Is you gon’ stress me out and cuss me out? (She hold me down) I had my fair share of women, feelings don’t catch me now (Down)
In September, Brent dropped a loose track titled “Dead Man Walking.” F *** The World was released back in February and saw 10 tracks from the Maryland star, which included fan-favorite cuts like “Been Away” and “Clouded.” Prior to that, he dropped off the six-track EP Lost in 2018. His debut album, Sonder Son, made landfall in 2017. That same year, he added to his own solo work by teaming up with Dpat and Atu to form the group Sonder, releasing the seven-track EP Into. Later, that group liberated the track “What You Heard” last year.
