Hailing from the DMV, Lo Village has officially dropped off their brand new Lost In America EP today, Jan 22. Fans got a first taste of the project a few months ago, as “Terry Crews” made its debut in October. On the track, Ama opens up the song and reels listeners in with her sweet vocals:
Nobody’s gonna save you. Nobody’s gonna save you./ If you ain’t for the squad, you can go. Love you too much, this time’s personal./ Won’t hold you back, your life, you choose. I’ma make it any way this thing goes./ Tell me ‘cause you’re making this hard. Is this funny? You don’t believe what you are. Ain’t never met no n***a like that. You for the streets, I’ma let you have that./ But one thing, I’ma get to the bag. You ain’t gonna get in the way of that.
Lost In America was preceded by songs like “Out the Window” and the aforementioned “Terry Crews.” In 2020, we also received their single “Comfortable.” The new project follows their 2019 debut, the It Takes A Village EP, and prior to that was 2017’s For The Birds, a collaboration with Dirty Shafi which was equipped with nine smooth records.
Taking motivation and inspiration from the current times we live in, the new EP is an expression of the trio’s most candid thoughts, and more importantly, the substantial reactions that must take place in order to see effective change. “Lost in America is our response to the chaos and disruption that we witnessed over the last year,” Lo Village says about the project via press release. “Tough times call for a reality check and we wanted to be as transparent and vulnerable as possible with out audience. It’s important for us to not make the same mistakes which got us tot his place. We know better, so we have to be better.”
