Shotta Spence has been steadily dropping off cuts he’s been taken under Mike Will Made-It’s wing as part of the Ear Drummers roster. His newest offering is “Young & Humble,” which is his first release of 2021 and came accompanied by a breezy music video to match its vibe. For his opening bars, Shotta sets the tone for what he’s about:
Young and Humble with a bag that’s me. Young fly shotta with the swag that’s me. I’m from the F I ain’t never on E. Hundreds face up keep the stack real neat./ 4-5-6 never 1-2-3How you do that? what they always ask me. You’ll let ya man go through the same lame shit that you went through gotdamn that’s weak./ Smoking out the room and I took a few shrooms now I’m looking in the mirror like “Damn I’m geeked.” High altitude, up there when I cruise, I don’t really say much, I let my actions speak./ Keep it real player, no shoes on the rug and she think I’m the plug cus I’m Vietnamese.
The new visual sees Shotta Spence riding through the sunny streets of Los Angeles, at one point stopping to take a spot on top of a ledge to enjoy the setting sun and vibe out. We saw a good amount of music from Spence in 2020, including singles like “$howers” alongside 732Cash, “Starship,” “Bag on a Bag,” and “Arriba.” In 2019, he released his 1012 project. Which included eight tracks and a feature from Big Blake. He made his rap career debut in 2016 with his Upfall project, which included his fan-favorite cut “Nothing 2 Lose.”
