Chris Brown is fed up with people who continue to say that he has not grown musically.
Twitter user @FlyoutChase took to Twitter on Sunday (Jan. 17) to compare Breezy to Ben Simmons, a professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers. ”Chris Brown really is the R&B Ben Simmons… no progression, no decline…. just the same old shit ass musician,” the tweet reads.
In a follow-up tweet, @FlyoutChase wrote, “You know what u getting with Chris Brown lmao…no one listens to CB music expecting him to improve, experiment with sounds, etc….just the same old redundant ass music.”
The “No Guidance” singer lashed out in his response to the tweet in an Instagram comment. “Y’all pussy ass n*ggas gone stop playing wit me like I ain’t better than any n*ggas u can possible think of,” he wrote in a now-deleted comment. “BASKETBALL A TEAM sport n*gga. You fuck ass lil n*ggas better watch Sports Center because you’ll lose count watching my paper. Now go ask ya momma who ya real daddy is.”
Criticism aside, Breezy is continuing to heat up the charts and radio. His Young Thug-assisted single, “Go Crazy,” has hit No. 1 on U.S. Radio and has become his biggest hit since 2008.
“Go Crazy” was the lead single from Slime & B, which was a joint EP collaboration with Young Thug. The project was released on May 5, which happened to be the “Take You Down” singer’s 31st birthday.
Last year, he celebrated the 15th anniversary of the release of his debut self-titled album with an interactive website which took fans through memory lane. Chris Brown reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and went triple platinum. It featured the hit songs “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” “Say Goodbye,” “Poppin’,” “Gimme That” and “Run It,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
