Four men attempted to burglarize Dr. Dre’s home while he is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a brain aneurysm.
As TMZ reported, the men arrived at Dre’s Pacific Palisades estate around 2 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 6), but were approached by the rapper’s security guards who went on to call the police. The group — who reportedly tried to flee the scene — were pursued and eventually taken into custody for attempted burglary.
L.A. cops say the men took advantage of Dre’s hospitalization to rob his home.
As REVOLT previously reported, the “Forgot About Dre” emcee suffered from a brain aneurysm on Monday (Jan. 4), was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU where he remained on Tuesday (Jan. 5).
He was reportedly “stable and lucid,” but doctors were running tests to determine the cause of the bleeding.
The news of Dre’s aneurysm was met with social media posts from several members of hip hop industry who hoped the California legend would pull through.
N.W.A.’s own Ice Cube, for example, took to Twitter writing, “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre,” while his son O’Shea Jackson tweeted, “I didn’t want this to be my first tweet of 2021, but I had to stop working just to say I just prayed for Dr. Dre and his family. Me and my family are with you.”
Amid the overwhelming support, Dre calmed everyone’s nerves by providing a positive update on his health status.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he wrote on his Instagram account. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
