Swae Lee will soon be reunited with his missing hard drive. The rapper confirmed the news during a recent interview with GQ.
“[It’s] on its way back,” Lee said of his hard drive. “It’s like a movie, bro… But I’m not really stressing. I’ve dealt with worse shit than this.”
Earlier this month, the “Sunflower” emcee — who is reportedly working on his forthcoming album— lost his hard drive at the Los Angeles International Airport and took to social media to offer a cash prize to person that found it. “All my songs are on there,” he wrote in his public plea for assistance. “I GOT MY WHOLE LIFE ON THAT SHIT!!!” The “Unforgettable” hitmaker initially proposed $20,000, but eventually increased the reward to $50,000.
Three days into his search, Lee came close to retrieving his hard drive during an Instagram Live conversation with an anonymous fan who’d allegedly acquired it and was willing to return it only if his demands were met.
“Follow my Twitter…I’ma start leaking shit on god if he don’t pay for what it’s worth. I need 150 n up for his music,” the rapper’s supporter requested. “I’m actually a huge fan. This is really a wild dream come true. I’ll give the hard drive back if I could get a picture or a feature with [Drake] & [Swae Lee] together.”
During the live session, the unidentified fan presented Lee’s hard drive as well as his face mask, watch and other items found in the emcee’s bag. The “Black Beatles” star didn’t respond at the time, but it seems the two have come to a happy medium.
Lee previously revealed he and producer Mike WiLL Made-It have over 700 songs to consider for his upcoming Human Nature album. A snippet of one of his unreleased tracks was played by the unknown fan after their IG live session.
