E-40 and Too Short’s Verzuz on Saturday (Dec. 19) was a night that the West Coast won’t ever forget. The two Bay Area rap pioneers came together to not go head to head exactly in a battle, but instead joined forces for a Yay Area celebration.

The event went dumb and hundreds of thousands of their fans tuned in virtually to watch the hype festivities while dancing in their homes. From the legendary backstories of some of their biggest hits to tales of both artists growing up in The Bay, E-40 and Short put on one hell of a show and ended Verzuz’s 2020 on the perfect hyphy note.

One of the many highlights of the night was when Short surprisingly confirmed that he, his Verzuz opponent, and fellow West Coast rap legends Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube were all coming together to form a group called Mount Westmore for a joint album that was coming in the new year.

Both 40 and Short teased this upcoming album in a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club” before their Verzuz. “If you wanna call us something, just call us Snoop, Cube, 40 and Short,” Short said. “We jumping on these calls talking ‘bout, ’I got a beat. Rap on this beat. Send me a beat.’ We was fucking around, just sending beats to each other, and it ended up being 25 fucking songs. We was like, ‘This shit sound good.’ So, we kept doing it.”

Short added that this upcoming project was “bigger than music” because they were all about their business, too. “We not a supergroup, we an LLC. That’s what it is,” he added.
