On Wednesday (Dec. 9), G Herbo pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges.

The PTSD emcee, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, his manager Antonio “T-Glo” Strong, Chicago rapper Joseph “Joe Rodeo” Williams, Steven Hayes Jr., Demario Sorrells and Terrence Bender were all allegedly part of a $1.5 million scheme, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Authorities believe the group of men took information from the dark web to pay for vacations out the country, yachts, private jets, security guards, private chefs and limousine rides. Strong, who is believed to be the leader of the group, allegedly used a stolen credit card and fake driver’s license to purchase two designer puppies.

Last week, Wright turned himself in to authorities after the charges were made public. He quickly posted bond and has been able to remain at home while awaiting trial. During the hearing, his lawyer revealed that his client’s fiancée, Taina Williams, was four months pregnant. Wright’s attorney requested that he be allowed to travel to New Jersey to visit her and their baby. Judge Katherine Robertson allowed their request.

Prosecutors also identified Ariana Fletcher as one of the witnesses in the case. She is the mother of Wright’s son. The judge ordered him not to speak to her about the case.

Last week, the “Swervo” rapper’s team released a statement on his behalf. “G Herbo has been charged with several offenses in Massachusetts, however, he maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court,” wrote the Machine Entertainment Group. “Herbo has legal representation in Massachusetts via Prince Lobel, whose team has reached out to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Massachusetts to make arrangements for Herbo’s appearance. G Herbo will appear in Massachusetts whenever he is required either in person or via Zoom.”

If convicted, Wright faces up to six years in prison.
