Nicki Minaj is celebrating one more trip around the sun. The Trinidadian-American rapper turned 38 years old on Tuesday (Dec. 8) and her fans, collaborators and family are helping her mark the special day.

On Instagram, Nicki’s mother, Carol Maraj, penned a sweet note and posted a few throwback pictures of herself and Nicki.

“On this night, 38 yrs ago, I cherished every moment, for it would be the last night you would hear my heart beat from the inside and tomorrow would be the first day of me seeing my heartbeat on the outside,” she wrote. “The joy of being able to hold my baby girl took over and I couldn’t wait to meet you. I think you wanted to meet me too because you came bright and early.”

This is also Nicki’s first birthday as a mother herself, as the Queen MC welcomed her own bundle of joy back in September. On Twitter, fans wished Nicki a happy birthday and paid tribute to her influence.

“38 years in and still dominating the rap game,” one person wrote.

“Everybody wish a happy birthday to the mf QUEEN of rap!” another tweeted.

Besides her birthday, Nicki has a lot to celebrate this year. The New York native recently made Billboard’s list of the Top 9 Hip Hop and R&B artists of the decade, clocking in at No. 4. Nicki also recently commemorated the 10-year anniversary of her debut studio album Pink Friday and revealed to fans that she has an autobiographical docuseries in the works.

“I’m very excited to finally share with you guys that my docuseries is coming to HBO Max!” she announced last month. “It’s gonna give you guys a raw, unfiltered look at my personal life and my professional journey and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
