If you’re looking for Meek Mill on social media, it may be best to check in on Friday (Nov. 20) as the Philly rapper has temporarily deactivated all his social media accounts. “I’m deactivating til Friday when I got music out!!!!!!” he tweeted yesterday (Nov. 16).

Meek’s decision to unplug from social media comes before the release of his upcoming EP and after the backlash he received for his attempt to bring peace to his city.

As REVOLT previously reported, the “Dreams and Nightmares” emcee offered record deals to Philly residents if they put their beefs aside and let bygones be bygones. “I’ll get all the main big artists in Philly a deal if they put them bodies behind them and squash them beefs…I hear about,” he tweeted.

“Got some hot young bulls from my city, but they all beefing! And that’s just an idea, but I’ll push thru with my city if y’all make it thing!” he explained. “It’s like 5 clicks that’s talented, but they deep in! And get they most attention when they beefing!”

Meek’s incentive didn’t sit too well with Poundside Pop and other local rappers who eventually banned the Championships star from North Philly. Unfazed by the news, however, he confidently declared, “We run the hood the fuck is you saying lol.” He deactivated his account soon afterward.

Last month, during a Q&A session with Meek, a Twitter user asked him when he intended on releasing a new project, and he responded saying, “This year lol.” That project, he recently announced, will come in the form of a 4-pack that is slated to drop on Friday (Nov. 20).

Meek’s last album, Championships came out in 2018 and featured the likes of JAY-Z, Drake, Rick Ross and Fabolous. The album went on to open as the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.
