It almost feels like an eternity since we’ve heard a new release from Lil Nas X — his latest official drop, his remix to “Rodeo” with Nas, was released back in January. Earlier this week, the young Georgian star took a break from his usual social media humor to reveal that a new single titled “HOLIDAY” was on the way, along with a cinematic visual co-directed by Gibson Hazard. Fans were also able to enjoy a trailer for said video, which starts off much like “Rodeo” before he comes across a drunk Santa and becomes him, flying through an apparent wormhole of sorts with his reindeer and sleigh. Legendary actor Michael J. Fox even makes a surprise cameo:

Today, we’re now able to check out the track in its entirety, which is produced by Tay Keith and Take a Daytrip and sees Lil Nas X singing about his vibrant lifestyle:

“Ayy, it’s a holiday, I got hoes on hoes and they outta control, yeah, ayy, it’s another way, all my n***as on go and I hope that you know it/”

Back in 2018, Lil Nas X turned the music industry on its head with “Old Town Road,” an infectious, genre-bending hybrid that even had various entities unable to decide if it deserved to be considered country. He then added on Bill Ray Cyrus for the remix, effectively shutting up many of his country music critics in the process. It also topped charts across the globe, broke streaming records everywhere, and amassed an almost comical about of plaques, solidifying Lil Nas X’s place at the upper echelon of pop music.
