Although the ongoing pandemic has forced countless films to be pushed back, T he SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run has gifted eager fans with a few cuts from the forthcoming soundtrack to be enjoyed in the meantime. Swae Lee, Lil Mosey, and Tyga joined forces to deliver “Krabby Step,” which came paired with a fun-filled visual that sees the three partying with the animated stars of the movie. On the song, Spongebob references are anything but lacking:
“I’m flipping them patties, I’m chillin’ with Patrick, then both pull up backwards and they full of laughter, see Sandy Cheeks, I’m burstin’ her bubble, a jellyfish lover, I’ll catch me a couple. A magical world, the F is for fun, I’d run to the sun if only I could, now turn to your neighbor to make sure they’re swell, I probably will be forever be young, I’m feeling a little bit krabby, how can I be happy when people are spending me money.”
Swae Lee is gearing up to present his forthcoming album HUMAN NATURE, and he’s already released a slew of loose singles this year, including “Someone Said,” “Reality Check,” and “Dance Like No One’s Watching.” He’s also contributed to plenty of music from his peers, including French Montana’s “Out Of Your Mind,” Arizona Zervas’ “Roxanne (Remix),” Kane Brown’s “Be Like That,” Internet Money’s “Thrusting,” and the late Pop Smoke’s “Creature.”
Tyga has put out and assisted with other singles this year, including Jackboy’s “Aggy,” “Latina (Remix)” with Reykon and Becky G, “Money Mouf” with Saweetie and YG, “Sweet & Sour” with Jawsh 685 and Lauv, “Trap Pea” with El Alfa, and another viral hit “Vibe (If I Back It Up) by Cookiee Kawaii.
