Earlier this month (Oct. 23), Junglepussy liberated her new project JP4. She follows up shortly after with the official grungy new visual for the intro track “Bad News.” On the track, Junglepussy sings about sticking to her own pace:
“The way it goes down, I know that you’ll be back again. Looking back at my ass, moving on on my own, on my own, on my own. On my own, on my own, on my own. Some places I simply don’t belong. I’m not your little candy store, yeah. I’m not the one you wanna talk to in the morning. I got bad news, I got bad news, but it’s so true, I got bad news.”
Junglepussy first dropped her first project Satisfaction Guaranteed in 2014, before delivering her debut studio album Pregnant With Success the following year. She’s also flexed her multi-talented personality on the sketch comedy series “Random Acts of Flyness” and the film Support the Girls, the latter seeing her co-starring alongside Regina Hall.
In a previous interview, JP delved into what it means to her for people to practice female empowerment as a true progressive movement rather than a “trend”:
“I think it just happens. We need to stop policing women. We need to combat dated, patriarchal ways. I saw it practiced on the Support the Girls set. Andrew gave us so much time to hang together without him there. That’s why I get so mad when people abuse “girl power.” All of us girls stayed in the same hotel so we were always hanging out. And we were all fangirling over Regina Hall, but there was still that sisterhood vibe. I experienced so many beautiful moments with women and I cherish them because I know it doesn’t happen all the time.”
