As Election night (Nov. 3) chugs along, Donald Trump decided to speak to his supporters.
While speaking about the millions of people who voted for him, Trump said that “a very sad group of people” voted for Biden as a way to ruin everything that he’s working on as president. He added, “We were getting ready for a big celebration… the results tonight have been phenomenal.”
However, Trump said a lot of inaccurate statements, as well. NBC News confirmed that much of what he declared was flat out 100% not truth. “We won Florida by a lot… we won Texas… We have won Georgia,” the current prez stated. “We’re winning Pennsylvania by a tremendous amount of votes… these aren’t even close.”
Abruptly moving away from Trump’s speech, NBC News journalist Savannah Guthrie said: “We gotta dip in here because there have been several statements that are just frankly not true as the president is going through some of the states stating that he has prevailed in these states naming Georgia… they’re winning Pennsylvania, won Michigan. The fact of the matter is those states have not come close to counting all of their votes. They’re still outstanding votes.”
Earlier in the night, his opponent Joe Biden gave some encouraging words to his supporters, too. “I’m here to tell you tonight that we believe that we’re on track to win this election,” he said. “We knew because of the unprecedented early vote and mail-in vote that’s gonna take a while. We’re gonna have to be patient… and it ain’t over until ever vote is counted. Every ballot is counted.
“But, we’re feeling really good about where we are… We’re confident about Arizona, that’s a turnaround. We also just called it for Minnesota and we’re still in the game in Georgia although that’s wasn’t what we expected. We’re feeling really good about Wisconsin and Michigan… And by the way… we’re gonna win Pennsylvania!”
Biden closed, “Keep the faith guys, we’re gonna win this!”
