On Thursday (Oct. 15), Ice Cube took to Twitter to reveal that his appearance on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” with Chris Cuomo was cancelled following the allegations that he worked with Donald Trump on his “Platinum Plan” for Black America.
“So the POWERS that be cancelled my interview on @CuomoPrimeTime tonight,” he tweeted. “I’ve actually been [banned] from @CNN for a few months, so I was surprised they even asked. But it seems like they can’t handle the truth.”
The cancellation comes just a day after Katrina Pierson, Trump’s senior advisor, took to Twitter to thank the “It Was A Good Day” emcee for helping create the plan.
“Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan,” she tweeted. “Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!”
Cube responded to the allegations on Wednesday (Oct. 14) by tweeting that he reached out to both parties about his proposed Contract With Black America (CWBA), but Joe Biden’s campaign wanted to connect with him after the election. Trump’s campaign, however, used the CWBA to make changes to their plan.
“Facts: I put out the CWBA,” he tweeted. “Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA.”
Cube faced a lot of criticism from people and he immediately became a trending topic on Twitter. On Thursday, he responded to a tweet from The Washington Post which included a link to their article titled, “Ice Cube once rapped about arresting Trump. Now he’s advising the president on policy plans.”
Cube responded, “I will advise anybody on the planet who has the power to help Black Americans close the enormous wealth gap.” In a follow-up tweet, he clarified that he has not endorsed Trump or Biden.
