Curren$y continues his consistency streak without breaking a sweat as he drops off another music video off his The Director’s Cut project, his joint effort with producer Harry Fraud. In terms of visuals off the project, Curren$y has already revealed “News On Mute” and “White Ashes.” His latest cut is “Vintage Haze” featuring frequent collaborator Larry June, who joins him for the new video as well. On the song, Curren$y references his other project with Harry Fraud:
“We dropped that OutRunners, and they noticed that there was a hungеr here. I’m tryna buy a bigger homе this year. Put some more moves in gear, smokin’ Vintage Haze in this new age got my vision crystal clear. I see ‘em huddled up, talkin’ sh*t ‘bout us a thousand miles from here. I could get drunk with power, make ‘em all disappear.”
The elite rapper and produce duo weren’t finished after The OutRunners, as they swiftly followed up with yet another joint project in September titled The Director’s Cut. The second offering included 9 new tracks with Harry Fraud production and features from Snoop Dogg, Trippie Redd, Styles P, and Larry June. Prior to this, the duo also dropped La Marina together back in 2018, which saw guest appearances from Smoke DZA, French Montana, Action Bronson, and Wiz Khalifa.
In his episode of REVOLT’s Drink Champs, Curren$y reflected on some things he’s learned along the way while being an independent artist:
“I’ve been able to just rush shit out and I made mistakes because I’m like, ‘Yo, that could’ve been a bigger record’ or ‘If I would’ve gave that to Rick Ross or something to jump on or gave it to one of the little homies, it could’ve been this.’ But, I wanted it out that night ‘cause I’m so connected to my listeners that I know I’m gonna get the response from them at four in the morning ‘cause they was up smoking anyway.”
